Sitting on the front of his veranda Momodou Ceesay carefully creates the beautiful clothes we sell today. He doesn't have a workshop, he doesn't even have electricity, he works on a foot powered Singer sewing machine which looks like it could be 100 years old.

His raw talent to take a drawing (usually quite a bad drawing done by one of us!) and turn it in to a stylish item of clothing is incredible. He didn't go to university, he doesn't have any fancy training, this talent and skill has been passed down from generations of tailors in his family.

The techniques may be dated but the quality of his work is of high standards. Unlike many mass produced, high street clothes you see today. We believe talent such as Momodou's should be celebrated and made available to a wider audience. We also want to make quality, ethical clothing affordable.

Through Madina Clothing we hope to bring you unique, fashionable, quality clothes at fair prices which can help create a sustainable income to not only Momodou but our fabric suppliers too.

We want to make clothes matter.
