Musa, our jeweller, spends his days making beautiful bead and shell jewellery on the beach next to the Gambia/Senegal boarder crossing. Many of the materials he uses, such as the shells and seeds are found around this area. He makes an array of jewellery including necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Musa relies on passing tourists to make an income. Last year due to the Ebola outbreak Tourism throughout Africa suffered majorly, This had a knock-on effect for many businesses throughout West Africa, including Musa's.

Something Musa said to us when we visited him will stay with me forever... He said "if it wasn't for the jewellery we brought off him last year, he would have really struggled to live". I couldn't believe we were actually making such a difference to his life. This has always been our goal and even if we help just one person, that is something i feel truly proud of. It has opened my eyes and I hope going forward there will be many more people we can help through Madina Clothing.

Musa did us proud and we came home with, what we hope will be, a recognised 'Madina Necklace and Bracelet set'. The attention to detail and skill that has gone in to creating this jewellery is incredible. Musa truly is a very talent man and we hope to work with him for many years to come.
